An Invitation
Having mentioned my ambitions to some of you earlier, several of you expressed interest in joining me in my perambulations through the assorted wildernesses - having adventures. If this thing goes off like I hope it will, I plan to spend about five months traveling from Springer Mountain, Ga to Mt. Katahdin, beginning in early April. I will be traveling northward at about .583 mph average velocity. If you think you might want to and be able to join me for dinner or adventures and sundry, let me know, and we'll try to work it out.

Good luck on you trip, John! What an amazing opportunity/adventure! I can't wait to read about it! Best wishes!

! John, I'm excited you're going for it!
ReplyDeleteI must ask, though, how ARE you updating this blog, if you're HIKING? Are you lugging your lappy in your pack, soaking up the wireless? Or are you relying upon the kindness of strangers? OR have internet cafés popped up in shacks along the trail? I find each of these scenarios increasingly unbelievable, so I must simply assume that you're making the whole thing up.
Nevertheless, I bet you can guess my vote on the trail name.
Love ya.
Thanks, Bethany hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteAnd @verb - I'm trusting that there will be libraries with internet access in towns along the trail. Thus, I imagine that posts (requiring availability of internet + time + will to blog) will be rather intermittent, and the blog may be something of a lark. But, I figured that it was better to do a thing poorly than to never try it at all.
And no, it's not in honor of that Psmith but of Wodehouse's Psmith. The 'P' here is silent, as in Pshrimp.
