I saw the hail picture, and my first thought was "It's hailing shoes?" But it was really late, I was tired, and I may or may not have helped myself to a beer or two.
Snakes are the ONLY thing that keep me from hiking. I don't mind the whole grungy, no shower, sleep outside, wipe your tush with a leaf thing. But I won't go near snakes. I was trying to get Kevin to do a little day hiking with me, and he suggested a place, and I asked if there were snakes, and he looked like he might throw something at me for asking a question. But snakes give him the warm fuzzies, so he'd probably have tried to pet it.
Are you still on the haircut that you got right before you left? It looks really short and kind of recent. I expected you to look a little more unkempt after almost four months, like something from the tales of old about the people who only come down off the mountain at night. "Arr, he came down from the mountain, filled his canteen, raided the fridge and checked his Facebook, then he stole someone's baby brother, and he's coming for you next!"
How many miles a day are you hiking? (translation: when will you be coming home?)
I am a little more unkempt than that; it's an old picture from about the first month. Just didn't have anything recent that I felt was worth posting...possibly because I was looking really unkempt. Snakes ain't no thang; just don't get bit. It's advice that's worked for me.
Will be finishing up by September 1, so that's about 16 miles a day from here in Duncannon.
It's Team "The Children", dude. You still keeping up with them? As it turns out, I am taking another 4 zeroes in Port Clinton ... so I'm sorta taking it easy right now. Saying goodbye to Wampus, Ziggy and Thin Mint today.
